April ScreeningEarly Childhood ScreeningChildren ages 3 and up are required in Minnesota to participate in Early Childhood Screening prior to starting Kindergarten. Screening is free of charge and is a simple check of how your child is growing and developing. The screening will help to determine strengths and skills that your child has, as well as catch any developmental concerns early, which would allow for early intervention before he or she begins school. Our goal is to screen children soon after they turn three years old, but all children must be screened before starting Kindergarten.If your child is between the ages of three to five years old and has not been screened, please register today. You can sign up online by filling out the Early Childhood Screening Registration Form which must be completed to be registered. You will receive a confirmation email shortly after completion. You will receive a confirmation letter and necessary forms via email approximately 2 weeks before the screening date. NewBiddy BasketballYouth SportsThis is Biddy’s 26th season supporting the Kasson-Mantorville Community. We are looking forward to another year of building kids through the game of basketball, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Biddy Basketball is a program designed to introduce children to the game of basketball. The major emphasis of the program is to teach children basic skills in an environment that promotes teamwork and fun. The first half of each 35 minute session is devoted to the fundamentals of basketball whereas the second half allows for practicing skills in a scrimmage format. Additional information with rosters, coaches, and schedules will be sent out about a week before the first practice date. Not all late registrations are guaranteed a shirt, late registrations include any registration after the second Friday in December. Please try to have your child wear a shirt the same color as their team color. Who can participate in Biddy Basketball? Children who are in preschool (and are 4 years of age) through 3rd grade. There will be three divisions; all are co-ed:1. Pre-school (est. practice time 8:30 or 9:15am)2. Kindergarten and 1st grade (est. practice time 10 or 10:45am)3. 2nd grade and up (est. practice time 11:30am)Practice times for each age level will be determined once registration is complete, times above are estimates. ALWAYS use the Game Schedule document that is sent out close to the start date to determine when your child plays each week. We encourage all parents to consider volunteering to assist with coaching. Birthday PartiesEQUIPMENT & FACILITY RENTALSRental space for private parties/events are available contingent on staff and space availability. Spaces are reserved in two-hour blocks, which includes time required for set up and clean up. Additional time is available for an additional fee, or if the rental runs over time, overage fees will be assessed to the card on file. Rental cost for most spaces is $110, while the cost for the gymnastics gym is $130. Additional fees may be assessed at the discretion of Community Education. Wear clean walking or jogging shoes to eliminate snow or dirt being tracked through the hallways. For morning walks enter the main Elementary School doors by the pencils. The school will not be open for walkers on days school is not in session or if K-M schools are closed due to inclement weather.
