Brain Health, Aging, and Dementia Research (FREE Community Educational Event)
Overview
A three-part educational series that explores brain health, memory loss, and current research.
You are invited to join our team from the Mayo Clinic Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, in collaboration with Kasson-Mantorville Community Education to learn about brain health, memory loss, and current research. There will be plenty of time for conversation and questions.
Session 1: Building a Better Brain: October 13, 4-6pm

- Reducing dementia risk
- Everyday strategies for optimizing memory
Session 2: When does Forgetfulness Signal Dementia: October 20, 4-6pm
Featuring Ryan Coburn, MD
Topics include:
- When to see your doctor & the value of early diagnosis
- Understanding dementia
- Genetics, managing the disease, and new treatments
Session 3: Research Demystified, October 27, 4-6pm
Featuring Liz Boots, PhD, LP
Topics include:
- Overview of different types of research
- What it means to participate in a research study
- What to consider when thinking about research
- Opportunities for future engagement
