KoMet Connections (4 & 5 years old) 2026-2027Preschool ProgramsKoMet Connections Preschool Program KoMet Connections is a developmentally appropriate School Readiness preschool program designed to support children's academic, social, and emotional growth as they prepare for kindergarten. Our program uses the Big Day for PreK curriculum and the COR Advantage Assessment system to monitor and support each child's individual development. Big Day for PreK provides intentional instruction across all learning domains, including: Social-emotional development Oral language and vocabulary Early reading skills Early writing skills Mathematics Science Social studies Fine arts Physical development Technology Classes are taught by licensed Early Childhood Educators who provide engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences that help children become confident, capable learners. March ScreeningEarly Childhood ScreeningChildren ages 3 and up are required in Minnesota to participate in Early Childhood Screening prior to starting Kindergarten. Screening is free of charge and is a simple check of how your child is growing and developing. The screening will help to determine strengths and skills that your child has, as well as catch any developmental concerns early, which would allow for early intervention before he or she begins school. Our goal is to screen children soon after they turn three years old, but all children must be screened before starting Kindergarten.If your child is between the ages of three to five years old and has not been screened, please register today. You can sign up online by filling out the Early Childhood Screening Registration Form which must be completed to be registered. You will receive a confirmation email shortly after completion. You will receive a confirmation letter and necessary forms via email approximately 2 weeks before the screening date. NewPermit to CarryAdult EnrichmentMN Permit to Carry Course This permit to carry course meets MN Statute 624.714 Subd. 2a. This course will prepare you for the legal responsibilities of carrying a pistol. We cover fundamentals on basic pistol use, as well as the physicals and phycological effects of a critical incident. This course will give you the skills needed to carry a pistol for self-defense and to protect your family. Cost includes classroom time, which should take between 2-3 hours, as well as qualification on the shooting range. Meet in the K-M High School Learning Center (do NOT bring firearms into the school) at 9am. Class will travel to the shooting range after the classroom portion of the class is over. Attendees may use their own gun at the range and need to bring a minimum 25 rounds of ammo. If they would like to rent a pistol, it would be $15 (including ammo) in addition to class cost and will be paid the day of directly to the instructor via cash or check. The lead instructor has over 20 years experience in firearms. Served 12 years in the military with service in the Iraq war. Currently is a Law Enforcement firearms instructor for Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, Pistol red-dot optics, as well as active shooter response. We specialize in small group training for a more hands on approach. Our goal is to help new and experienced shooters build skills for successful self-defense. NewPickleballAdult Fitness & RecreationThis sport is easy to pick up and play. This class will be a 2 hour pick-up game style for indoor pickleball. There is no formal instructor, however this Pickleball Community is very welcoming to new and seasoned players alike. Participants are asked to bring their own equipment (paddle and ball) and clean shoes. Courts will run from casual play to more competitive play through self selection. Private Piano LessonsYouth EnrichmentCome and learn piano with an instructor with over 50 years of teaching experience! No previous piano/music instruction is necessary to start lessons. Karen has a individualized approach to teaching piano that allows students to go at their own speed. Each lesson is 25 minutes, and families sign up monthly for these one on one lessons.Lesson books will be purchased through Karen and will cost extra for this class. This allows the instructor to choose an appropriate book for the child's ability level. All books are around $10. A piano or full size keyboard with weighted keys is recommended for at home practice.
