NewBiddy BasketballYouth SportsThis is Biddy’s 26th season supporting the Kasson-Mantorville Community. We are looking forward to another year of building kids through the game of basketball, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Biddy Basketball is a program designed to introduce children to the game of basketball. The major emphasis of the program is to teach children basic skills in an environment that promotes teamwork and fun. The first half of each 35 minute session is devoted to the fundamentals of basketball whereas the second half allows for practicing skills in a scrimmage format. Additional information with rosters, coaches, and schedules will be sent out about a week before the first practice date. Not all late registrations are guaranteed a shirt, late registrations include any registration after the second Friday in December. Please try to have your child wear a shirt the same color as their team color. Who can participate in Biddy Basketball? Children who are in preschool (and are 4 years of age) through 3rd grade. There will be three divisions; all are co-ed:1. Pre-school (est. practice time 8:30 or 9:15am)2. Kindergarten and 1st grade (est. practice time 10 or 10:45am)3. 2nd grade and up (est. practice time 11:30am)Practice times for each age level will be determined once registration is complete, times above are estimates. ALWAYS use the Game Schedule document that is sent out close to the start date to determine when your child plays each week. We encourage all parents to consider volunteering to assist with coaching. NewGuitar or Ukulele Lessons (Gr.3 and older)Youth EnrichmentHave you always wanted to learn to play the guitar or the ukulele? Do you have some experience but want to take your playing to the next level? Nathan Davidson is eager to work individually with students of all ages to meet their musical goals. Students will receive one 1/2 hour lesson per week for this seven week session. Registrations will be taken through Community Education; Mr. Davidson will contact you to set up a Tuesday or Thursday lesson time. If the times listed do not work for you, Mr. Davidson may be able to work with your schedule. Please contact us prior to registration to see if this could be an option for you. NewHomecoming Youth Cheer Clinic (Gr. K-4)Youth Fitness & RecreationJoin Coach Amie Pongratz, and the Varsity Cheer Team for a fun week of high energy and excitement. Participants will learn cheers, chants, a cheer routine, and several cheer games. These future cheerleaders will have two practices on Monday and Wednesday, a private showing for parents on Wednesday after practice, performance on Thursday at the Elementary PepFest, and a public appearance at the KoMets half time football game on Friday (meet 5 minutes prior to half-time down by the cheerleaders). 3:30-5pm on Monday & Wednesday (practice) Thursday we will perform at the Elementary School PepFest (more details on time of this PepFest to come)Friday we will perform at halftime of the Homecoming Football game This is a fundraiser for the KoMet Cheer Team; fee includes a Homecoming Cheer Clinic T-Shirt if registered at least three weeks before the start date. *Tuesday of Homecoming week is an early out this year (2026) which is why practices were changed to Monday and Wednesday.CE 2026-2027 -

Private Piano LessonsYouth EnrichmentCome and learn piano with an instructor with over 50 years of teaching experience! No previous piano/music instruction is necessary to start lessons. Karen has a individualized approach to teaching piano that allows students to go at their own speed. Each lesson is 25 minutes, and families sign up monthly for these one on one lessons.Lesson books will be purchased through Karen and will cost extra for this class. This allows the instructor to choose an appropriate book for the child's ability level. All books are around $10. A piano or full size keyboard with weighted keys is recommended for at home practice.
