Community Trick or Treat (FREE)Early Childhood Family EducationPut on your costume and join us for the 14th Annual Community Trick-or-Treat—a safe, warm place for kids to collect candy. Kasson-Mantorville Community Businesses, in partnership with ECFE, Community Education, and the Elementary PTA, invite you to a fun-filled indoor adventure. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. at the Community Education building and K-M Elementary School, with trick-or-treating from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Please arrive on the Community Education side and follow the signs. Fun surprises await! A big thank you to the K-M businesses, groups and clubs whose generous support makes this event a great success. Family Fun NightEarly Childhood Family EducationJoin us for a family-friendly evening. Each class includes circle time, stories, free play, and hands-on activities. Afterward, caregivers can participate in a discussion with our Family Educator or access take-home resources. Bring your child to practice learning in a school-like setting and make new friends. KoMet Connections (4 & 5 years old) 2026-2027Preschool ProgramsKoMet Connections Preschool Program KoMet Connections is a developmentally appropriate School Readiness preschool program designed to support children's academic, social, and emotional growth as they prepare for kindergarten. Our program uses the Big Day for PreK curriculum and the COR Advantage Assessment system to monitor and support each child's individual development. Big Day for PreK provides intentional instruction across all learning domains, including: Social-emotional development Oral language and vocabulary Early reading skills Early writing skills Mathematics Science Social studies Fine arts Physical development Technology Classes are taught by licensed Early Childhood Educators who provide engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences that help children become confident, capable learners. Preschool ExperienceEarly Childhood Family EducationPreschool Experience is a hands-on school-exposure class for children ages 2.5-4 year olds and potty-trained. In a warm, small-group setting, students explore the preschool day while building social, emotional, fine-motor, and early academic skills. Each session blends teacher-guided instruction with child-led play across centers, including sensory bins, dramatic play, numbers and counting, letters and sight words, name recognition, pre-writing, read-alouds, movement, songs, and art. Young Explorers (Nature Based Preschool)Preschool ProgramsECFE Young Explorers Nature-Based Preschool Program The ECFE Young Explorers Nature-Based Preschool Program offers a unique learning experience that combines early childhood education with environmental exploration. Designed for children ages 3–5, this program uses hands-on, multi-sensory experiences to support children's social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development. Through outdoor exploration and nature-inspired learning activities, children develop important life skills such as: Problem-solving Creativity Resilience Communication and collaboration Curiosity and exploration Children participate in meaningful experiences that encourage discovery, build confidence, and foster a lifelong appreciation for the natural world. This mixed-delivery program includes classes three days per week and incorporates a parent engagement component. The program provides a safe, nurturing environment where children's natural curiosity guides learning and exploration.
